I L O V E to entertain, but after the cost of food and drinks, it can get expensive. So, how can you entertain and not break the bank? 1. Evite
My friend, if you haven’t heard of Evite, I am afraid you are living under a rock…

This is a great site to send out your party invitations on without having to write or print them out and get them sent in the mail. While email would suffice, Evite offers you a ton of fun designs and tracks your RSVP’s for you, now how cool is that? Check them out for your next summer party at http://www.evite.com.

2. BYOB
Anyone having college flashbacks? Yes, I just said that, BYOB. Bring Your Own Beer. Not everyone drinks alcohol, but if they do it doesn’t mean the dudes will be digging the cute bottle of red that you picked up last night. So! Instead of trying to get everyone’s order right, why not just ask everyone to bring their drink of choice? And please don’t feel bad for doing so! How often do you have people ask, “What can I bring?” Why not respond with, “Whatever you would like to drink!

3. Dollar Stores
The Dollar Tree is a land of 15 isles, 90% of those isles consisting of things you really don’t need. BUT! Because it is a dollar, you find a reason TO need it. Am I right or am I right?! Just today I was in the dollar store picking up birthday cards for friends and family and considered purchasing a giant fly swatter to be part of my mom’s birthday gift (it’s an inside joke), but really?! What in the world is she going to do with a giant fly swatter, I mean this thing was huge, it is not like you could neatly hide it under the kitchen sink. Needless to say, I didn’t buy it. With this all said, my point is this. You can get paper plates, napkins, streamers, balloons and much more for your next summer party, all for $1 per item. That beats spending up to $5 per item at some of the other stores… Check out the Dollar Tree’s great selection of party supplies here: http://www.dollartree.com/party-supplies/574/index.cat

4. BBQ
Mass quantities of meat equals mass quantities of mouth’s fed, that is why barbequing is one of the least expensive ways to feed your guests. Purchase a large amount of ground beef and spice it up with your family recipe, throw them on the grill and voila! You can also whip up some BBQ sides like deviled eggs, baked beans or veggies on a platter with your favorite dip.

I hope that your next summer party is a hit! Listen next week as I cover the topic, “America’s Debt Problem” So many of us feel alone, but I am here to encourage you to let you know that you are not and there are things you can be doing to get yourself out!
